Interstices
It all began with the discovery of a wild boar wallow in a small wooded area near my home. A patch of vegetation surrounded by roads, houses, industrial zones, and farmland—a place where I never would have expected to find something like that, and where there had been no reports of large animals for at least a century.
That track led me to see these environments differently, revealing the importance of these small pockets of nature within the concrete landscape.
That initial discovery gave rise to a project focusing on the wildlife closest to home and on the ability of these small habitats to preserve a richness that is almost invisible from the outside. While everything seems normal during the day, it is mainly at night that the animals move about freely. For this project, I left my SLR camera in the woods at night, connected to a motion sensor.
